Changing food production
for the better

Even with the ideas, backing, and bravery you need to make change, you can’t get far without a plan — and EIT Food North West needed my help to move forwards.

A farming landscape in Ireland

EIT Food is the leading food innovation initiative in Europe, working to make the food system healthier and more sustainable.

It’s a network covering more than 43 countries, including Ireland — and that’s the area we’re talking about here. Jayne Brookman, Director of the North West regional office, got in touch for strategic and tactical help with EIT Food North West’s work in Ireland. In other words: working out what to do next, and how to get it right. In other, other words: my speciality.

More specifically, Jayne asked me to create an engagement plan for smaller businesses in Ireland. That meant delving into EIT Food’s vast network of universities, businesses, startups, and other companies to interview key influencers, gather information, and ultimately put together a set of recommendations that’d help EIT Food North West get where they needed to be. But really, this project was about people: getting to know the names, faces and personalities behind all those different institutions and companies, and working out what part they might play in the next two years of EIT Food North West.

This is where I truly thrive: sparking conversations, meeting new people, spotting connections and joining all the dots to create something brilliant. EIT Food couldn’t have been happier with the plan I put together, and it was such a successful project they asked me back to help them to engage with small and medium sized businesses, too. Even better, EIT went on to expand their regional office team — and asked me to join. And if that isn’t testament to the difference I’ve made, I don’t know what is.

“Anna set about this assignment for the EIT Food Regional office with her usual drive and enthusiasm.  It was a pleasure to work with Anna, who worked autonomously and came back to us with fully fledged recommendations ready to inform the activities we would put into our planning cycle for 2022 and beyond. Anna’s ability to understand the brief, consider our overarching strategy, assess the landscape and translate these elements into tactical outputs was very valuable to us.

I’m very pleased to be working with Anna again in a follow-up assignment for EIT Food Regional office.”

It’s amazing what you can do with the right ally. I’m a supporter and an enabler, and make a real difference to companies and their people. Would you like to get me on board? You only have to ask.
