Taxi Studio

Planning for a more sustainable future

It can be tricky to balance growth with sustainability — how do you get bigger and better, while having a positive impact on the world around you?

Taxi Studio came to me at something of a crossroads. The creative agency is well known in Bristol and beyond, recognised for their brand work with clients all over the world. But with twenty brilliant years under their belt, they were ready to take the next step.

They’d done loads of great work towards getting certified as a B Corp, built up an incredible management team, and set to work planning their bright new future. And then — well, the pandemic threw a rather enormous spanner in the works.

What Taxi Studio needed was space to establish their position in tackling sustainability for themselves and their clients. They had all the ingredients — fab team, big vision, appetite for change — but needed the recipe. My role was to bring everyone together to work out what to do next.

It’s never my style to tell a team what to do; I’m more like a guiding force that helps them work together to find the answers themselves. I set up one-on-one consultations with each team member to tease out the challenges, then used what I found to plan and facilitate an in-depth workshop, which would give everyone a chance to share their ideas and find a way forward. And of course, it was a roaring success.

Workshop PostIt notes

My one-to-ones and team workshop gave each person time – and space – to talk things through. I prompted them to think about their business goals, plan more sustainable ways of working, and consider the positive actions needed to carry the change forwards.

The workshop helped the team to spot areas that needed work; plan resources; and develop a gameplan for the future, both with quick wins to roll out right away, and longer-term actions. Now, they’re going from strength to strength. Like I always say, sometimes all it takes is a fresh pair of eyes — and for Taxi Studio, a dash of positivity and a sprinkle of empowerment went a very long way.

“I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU for today! We covered so much and uncovered a lot of quick wins and solutions to problems that have been plaguing us for a while. I know I speak for the group when I say you gave us some real food for thought, and thank you for holding the space for us to put our minds together, we can be a tricky bunch to work with and I hope our enthusiasm at the end was seen as such.”
